Connecting your venue TV

DisplayOS is the layer that puts every module on your venue’s screen. It is a web page, so any device that can hold a browser open in full screen works. Setup takes about two minutes and does not need repeating.

What you need

A device plugged into the TV that can open a web page and stay on it: a smart TV’s built-in browser, a Fire TV Stick or Chromecast with a browser app, a mini PC or spare laptop on HDMI, or a tablet mounted behind the bar. There is no VYVE app to install.

Smart TV browserWorks on most current TVs. Older or budget TV browsers can render slowly, so test it before a real night.

TabletGood as a second screen behind the bar or for a host, not just a wall TV.

Steps

    Find the venue’s display link
    In the dashboard, open Venues and click Open TV Display next to the venue. The link is unique to that venue and does not change.

    Open it on the display device
    Type the link into the device’s browser, or send it to yourself and open it there. Then put the browser in full screen (F11 on a desktop browser, or double-click anywhere on the page).

    Leave it open
    That is the whole setup. Anything you push from DJOS, CrowdOS, TournamentOS, PlayOS, or TriviaOS appears on that screen within a couple of seconds.

Heads up
Stop the device from sleeping
Turn off the screen saver and sleep timer on whatever runs the display, the same as any signage. VYVE never needs the tab reloaded, but if the device sleeps, the screen goes with it.

Before anything is live

With no event live, the display shows a neutral idle screen with the VYVE mark rather than a blank page, so the TV never looks broken while you set up. Once you go live, the QR code and join code for your event take over.

More screens or more venues

Each venue has its own display link and its own live state. To set up a second location, repeat these steps for that venue; see Multiple venues.
